This painting was inspired by a trip to Essaouira in Morocco, which is on the coast - a very exciting and interesting place. I would spend hours down at the working harbour drawing the boats and the fishermen. Almost everything was painted either blue or white, or a combination and the fishing boats were no exception.
I used mixed media to capture the excitment of the place, as well as the stillness of the water in the harbour.
