Original artwork. Acrylic paint and acrylic ink on Yupo paper.

  • These colourful Rudbeckia dancing in the Autumn breeze added a splash of colour to the garden when most of the summer colour had gone. My father used to grow Rudbeckia and give me bunches of them, so they are a lovely reminder of him and his love of gardening.

I used Yupo paper and liquid acrylics as I wanted to capture the vivid colour and movement of these flowers. The paint and ink slips and slides over the non absorbent Yupo paper, allowing me to manipulate the paint and embrace any happy accidents along the way. This method of working can be very unpredictable but exciting at the same time as you are never sure what will happen.
